To provide church life experiences to ensure that every member grows spiritually in action, word, and deed, so that we all speak the same thing and that we may be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:10
Our Beliefs
We believe - the Bible to be the inspired Word of God, and our only infallible authority.
We believe - that we are commissioned by our Saviour to..."Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." We want to witness effectively in Newport News, and to all parts of the world.
We believe - that the Lord Jesus Christ and the Bible should have pre-eminence in the church, home and each person's life. By doing this, there is a joyful, useful and victorious Christian testimony.
We believe - that the Lord Jesus Christ has left a legacy of joy to all who would commit their life to Him. We believe in being joyful here on earth and through all eternity.

DR. MELVIN WOFFORD
Reverend Dr. Melvin M. Wofford, Sr.

Dr. Wofford has been lauded as a progressive, committed, innovative, and a generational bridge-
builder.
He has been particularly called a bridge builder between generations. His transparent style of leadership allows him to connect with individuals from all stages of life.
In 2021, he achieved his Doctor of Ministry degree from Chicago Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois.
Currently, Dr. Wofford is an Adjunct Professor at Regent University’s Department of Counseling
and Psychology. Dr. Wofford has been happily married to Sharlay “Lady Lay” Wofford for fifteen years--serving together in love, family, ministry, and the community.
Together they partner in parenting four loving and supportive children - Shailyn, Dafour, Melvin,
Jr. and Skylar.
